Rarely seen over here, this white Chateauneuf is a real gem.  Rich, nutty, ripe fruit married with a seductive layer of toasty vanillin seduces the palate, followed by a long, warming yet gentle finish.

The Coteaux du Giennois is a small wine growing region in the Loire Valley to the North of Sancerre and Pouilly Fume.  This pure Pinot Noir rosé has a nose of rosé petals leading to a palate of soft summer fruits.
Domaine Trottieres rosé d'Anjou 2009 Loire  £          6.79
A Delicious, fruity rosé from the Loire valley.  Made from Cabernet Franc, it is like summer in a bottle. The bouquet screams summer fruits, whilst the palate has flavours of ripe raspberries and strawberries.

This beautifully crafted rosé has an elegant bouquet of summer berries. Dry on the palate with delicious flavours of strawberries and redcurrants. The acidity is balanced and refreshing.

We were blown away by this stunning rosé from Corsica.  This complex wine is floral and mineral with beautiful characters of ripe summer fruits whilst maintaining a good level of balanced acidity.

France - Reds

The satellite villages of Saint Emilion still provide wine of excellent value. The quality of the Merlot in this wine gives it a sensual feel which could be described as being almost sexy!

Many see Margaux as France’s best Appellation and it’s very easy to see why on tasting this great wine.  Intensely rich cedar over a layer of dark chocolate plum.

Scents of violets and ripe Autumn fruits.  On the palate flavours of blueberry jam.  This wine is delicious - a real showcase of what can be done with the Gamay grape.

A delightful expression of the Pinot Noir grape. This lovely wine has both structure and prominent raspberry fruit. The tannins are soft and well integrated. A real Gem.

One of Burgundy’s top appellations from one of its top producers.  Classic Pinot as it should be, ripe fruit over a blanket of delicate oak.  A complex palate with a long finish.
Chateau Miremont Minervois 2007 Languedoc  £           9.99
A divine bouquet of gunpowder tea and herby fruit that is so indicative of Minervois. The fruit is so ripe and rounded that it gives off an impression of being sweet. The finish lingers for an eternity.
Les Hauts de l’Ayrolle Fitou 2007 Languedoc  £          6.99
The aromas of wild herbs and tarry fruit literally leap out of the glass. The fruit flavours are simple yet precise, with the fruit being rich and spicy. This wine offers excellent value.
Domaine des Trottieres Anjou 2009 Loire  £          7.99
Classic Summer red from the Loire Valley in a very light and refreshing style.  Juicy blueberry and raspberry fruits dominate.   Extremely fruity, soft and mellow and very difficult to put down.
Chateau Contevall Costieres de Nimes 2008 Rhone  £          6.99
Green leaf and tobacco aromas dominate the heady bouquet. The fruit is vibrant and bouncy and will provide an excellent foil to spicy food or a country style casserole.
Le Mourre de L’isle Cotes du Rhone Villages 2007 Rhone  £           8.99
A truly masterful use of Grenache and Syrah. The fruit is extremely ripe and the tannins as soft as can be. A wine with fantastic character and balance. Delicious!

Domaine la Rocaliere Lirac 2006 Rhone  £         10.99

This is such a fun wine; lots of honey blossom on the nose and sensual fruit it is a wonder why this Sicillian grape hasn’t made much of a splash. Enjoy the secret while it lasts.

A truly great wine from Sicily.  The aromatics on this wine are remarkable.  Crisp, dry, mineral and very fresh.  It’s amazing the indigenous Grillo grape doesn’t get about more.

Made solely from the Lugana grape. The richness of the fruit is balanced by good acidity and a wonderful aromatic character. These Italian native varieties are just superb.

A heady blend of Merlot and syrah that screams drink me! This Italian take on two classic French grapes is just adorable. The vineyards are owned by the famous Allegrini family.

The aroma is a journey through the Tuscan Country side. Wild herbs, feshly tilled soil and savoury fruit. The palate is fresh and robust but this is balanced by some seriously rich fruit flavours.

Bodegas Luis Canas Rioja Blanco 2008 Rioja  £          9.49
We were extremely impressed with the wines of Luis Canas, including this delightful, fresh yet elegant white Rioja enhanced by a little toasty oak.
Monte Alina Verdejo Viura 2008 Rueda  £           8.59
Sherbety with a good spritz. The tangy Verdejo grape produces wines with flavours of pink grapefruit and citrus. A refreshing drop.
Bodegas Laus Gewurztraminer 2007 Somontano  £         13.99
Not a grape variety commonly associated with Spain, but this new winery in the Northern, cool climate Somontano has succeeded in creating an exceptional example.

A fresh, rounded dry white wine with tropical aromas of peach and nectarine all balanced with crisp acidity.
Spain - rosés
Bodegas Artesa Rioja Rosado 2008 Rioja  £          6.49
This excellent Rosado Rioja  has a youthful, very fruity and pronounced nose of fresh summer fruits with an equally juicy palate.  Good acidity and structure holds the palate perfectly.
Bodegas Laus Flor de Merlot 2008 Somontano  £           8.99
Stunning rosé from the increasingly popular Somontano region. Full of lovely ripe, sweet plum, damson and cherry notes. Pure, clean and very fresh.
Spain - Reds
Bodega Mustiguillo Mestizaje 2007 El Terrerazo  £         12.99
The lesser known variety Bobal is capable of producing amazing wines of which this is a perfect example.  Seductive, complex rich dark fruit with a spicy chocolate finish.
Buil & Gine Baboix 2004 Montsant  £        17.99
Full-bodied with lots of soft, spicy fruit with hints of mocha and cocoa. Another delicious wine by the ever impressive Xavi Gine. This time from his vineyards in Montsant.
Buil & Gine Gine Gine Priorat 2007 Priorat  £         13.59
Yes, we double-checked the price too; to get a good Priorat for this price is unheard of.  Powerful bramble and black fruit flavours and mellow tannins seduce the palate.

A great find this one. Lots of very juicy fruit with the most silky and supple tannins of any wine. This would be great with some grilled lamb or nut roast.
